On fire

Yea, chicken is not gonna work for my tummy. I have felt like I was on FIRE all day and all I’ve had is chicken and veggies throughout the day. Bah… guess I’ll give some of the chicken to Mom since she needs some food. I felt MISERABLE too, until I ate an apple and yogurt this evening. That didn’t make me burn! So I think I have an idea of what I’ll eat that won’t cause such STRONG symptoms – like today. I CAN’T LIVE LIKE THAT… it was terrible! The ONLY meat that might be acceptable for me is the plain turkey patties, so I’ll see how I feel when I eat those tomorrow.

I seem to do well with: my usual protein powder, bananas, apples, plain yogurt, turkey patties, a certain protein bar, and a few veggies. And my favorite smoothie at the gym! That really makes me feel good. I *might* try plain brown rice again, like I did a while back. Not very much selection huh? Everything else makes me feel like I am ON FIRE in my abdomen and sometimes other symptoms too. I think I’ll stick to these foods and take the intestinew powder to heal my gut… and just wait to see what happens. That’s really my only hope.

I got up this morning and put away the chicken, cleaned house, and it rained-rained-rained all morning. Katie got up and played while I cleaned. Brad and I were both really tired/sleepy, so we decided to just stay home today. Of course I felt TERRIBLE with all the symptoms from today’s foods – it got so bad I just wanted it to go away!!!! Katie took a late nap and then I fed her dinner whens he got up and we headed out to Wal-Mart to pick up some stuff tonight. I feel sooooo much better after eating the apple, yogurt, and a few other things tonight. I was hoping to go for the GAPS diet, but seems I have my own specific food plan that works best for my body. Now I just want to chill out… enduring all that today really took a lot out of me.

I just want to heal my gut + thyroid, lose the weight, and live my life to the fullest! I will, I will.

I’M SO EXCITED !!! and I just can’t hide ittttttt, lol.

I’m happy to say that today has been good and also another busy, yet satisfying day. I did more research this morning and after everything I’ve read, I’m starting the GAPS diet tomorrow! Here’s the basics of the diet: http://theliberatedkitchenpdx.com/basics/starting-gaps/ and apparently people have had AMAZING results in taming autoimmune conditions, helping austism, CURING allergies….. it is AWESOME. NO gluten, soy, dairy, or sugar but it HEALS YOU. Sounds EPIC TO ME!!! Anyway, I did research while Katie played (AND WAS SUCH A GOOD GIRL!) until lunch. I let her play a bit longer today, since we got up later than usual. After she went down for nap, I ate then did more research, finished my college work, called Mom, and folded laundry. After Katie got up I cooked mine and Brad’s dinner for later while Katie ate her snack. Eventually, my sweet came home. After a bit, we dropped Katie off at Mom’s and went SHOPPING. I was excited to go to my fav place…… WHOLE FOODS, so that I could buy new stuff to start this HEALING PROCESS. I wound up getting: a whole chicken, raw local honey, vegenaise, 50 billion probiotic supplement, bananas, coconut oil, and the best – INTESTINEW! http://www.renewlife.com/intestinew.html and apparently it’s EXCELLENT and has a 5 star rating to help restore and heal intestinal lining. SCORE. I’m gonna try my first dose soon and then take another dose in the morning on an empty stomach. Heal the digestive and intestinal lining? I will help my immune system SOOOOO MUCH and my body will be tons better. At Wal-Mart I bought veggies, antibiotic free plain turkey patties, glass jars for my broth!, and usual groceries for Brad and Katie.

Basically, with the GAPS diet I’m gonna live off of FRESH, homemade chicken broth, the chicken meat, boiled or steamed certain veggies, the plain turkey patties, have a coconut oil / tiny bit of honey mix to hold me off between meals, and naners BY THEMSELVES a few hours after my evening meal for my dessert. I’m also gonna make bone broth from the chicken bones. The homemade stock and bone broth are the BEST healing agents for the gut and that is EXACTLY what I need. I take away any potential food allergens and take time to heal. I’m so thankful to have learned so much these last few days on how to help my body! I’M GOING TO HEAL MY THYROID AND CALM MY IMMUNE SYSTEM! =) Will stick to the GAPS diet for a few weeks and see what happens… after some time I will start to SLOWLYYYYYYY try to re-introduce specific foods and see how I react to them and go from there. Sadly, I can never have gluten again because of the Hashimoto’s. It’s just not a good idea. When my gut is fully healed down the road THEN I can potentially eat gluten-free products. We’ll see. I’m just excited to be on the road to full health again. YIPPEEE.

My chicken is gonna cook all night in the crockpot and in the morning I will have YUMMY whole chicken and lots and lots of HOMEMADE broth! MY BODY IS MY TEMPLE and I want to heal !!! Just from taking out gluten and getting back on my supplements since Wednesday I have a bit better already, but my abdomen still feels like it’s on fire often. Gonna tame that fire!!! Alright, I’m off to chill out.

Have an excellent night and remember – YOU control your body, YOU control you thoughts! Make them healthy and positive! Your health is in YOUR hands and you CAN change it. We are capable of healing ourselves, if we are dedicated and determined enough to follow through. =)
