Just do it

The title is what my shirt says today… yep.

UMM, this last Saturday Brad heard Katie crying after I went to bed & she said her throat hurt so he gave her some meds and she had a fever Sunday and Monday, so I kept her home and she was alright Tuesday. She’s still been having trouble with being quiet in class at school and one day she didn’t do her work – so just been trying to explain and talk to her about that. She did get a green (good!) today, but she wet her pants for the first time since I *thought* we were OK with the potty w/school. I dunno what happened. Anyway.

I feel like crap this evening because I walked over to Mom’s and talked for a long time and as silly as it sounds – with my health issues that amount of walking/talking takes a toll. Ridic isn’t it? I hate it. I feel drained, even though I’ve ate the same today as I usually do. The only diff was the extra activity. SUCKS BALLS.

Don’t really have much to say, except I can’t wait to get my saliva testing complete and in the mail so I can get the results. After looking at the day I have to do it – it’s later than the 1st. I’m gonna complete it on the 6th. Just gotta wait.

Almost dinner time! Can’t wait for my lovie to get home <3

Life & stuff

I’m totally bad at coming up with post titles, haha. WHAT’S UP. Just wanted to bring in my usual update on my life… and stuff.

– Katie’s doing awesome with the potty at school now, but yesterday she got a yellow for behavior (talking in class), and day before she got a red (for not paying attention & arguing over blocks with a classmate) – oh boy. She usually gets green (good) and has even gotten blue (excellent) 2 times before, but I guess the new-ness of school is wearing off so she’s letting go a little more, lol. I have just tried to explain to her how she should act, etc etc and she didn’t get her after school sticker or cartoons when she got red and yellow. We’ll see how it goes. Also, the school called and said we owed the school cafeteria and i’m WTF – she brings her lunch and eats breakfast at home. Come to find out Katie had been going and eating breakfast #2, so I got that straight today and told them to tell her no, she already ate at home.

– Well, well. My saliva test kit got to the lab, like I last posted about. My Naturopath emailed me 2 days later and said that there were only 2 vials that reached the lab, instead of 4. UHHH??? There were only 2 VIALS in the kit when I got it! Someone messed up my kit. WTF. So guess what? I have to redo it. GUESS WHAT ELSE? I got the new kit in the mail yesterday and can’t do it until a certain day of my cycle….. GRRRRRRRRRR DAMMIT. I have to wait till September 1st. Oh well. The only control I have over this is to try to minimize carbs in my diet & keep on keepin’ on till I can do the test, send it off, and get the damn results. SIIIIIIIIIIIGH.

– Still playing Lord of the Rings Online! I’m trying to get to level 85 (level cap), but I’m having a hard time just leveling ONE time. I’m at 66, almost to 67 but it isn’t easy because I’m on a free account and can only do very few quests. BAH.

– I went to the dentist Tuesday and got my teeth cleaned! I still need the 5 fillings, but I told them it would have to wait a little longer and she really encouraged me to get it done before they get worse. Right now their fine, but if it gets worse I’ll have to pay even more.

DEAR MONEY FAIRY: I COULD USE $100,000 TO TAKE CARE OF HEALTH NEEDS. Sigh. I would love to get all mine and Brad’s dental taken care of, plus our other health needs. Just keep doing the best we can. All anyone can ever do.

I’m also slightly sick AGAIN. I CAN’T WIN.

Learning as we go

Katie is on her last day of her first FULL week of school! Last week, on her 2nd day of K – my Aunt and Mom came to the bus stop with me to take pics/videos of Katie coming off the bus, but when the bus stopped and she came off … she was crying. She had wet herself on the bus. Fast forward to this week and I think it was Monday? Her teacher emailed me and said she asked the kids if they needed to go potty before lunch and Katie said no. Well – she did and she soaked herself, so they changed her. Katie’s scared of the really loud flushing toilets and I let her teacher know that. She wouldn’t use the classroom bathroom, then she started refusing the quieter toilets, so Wednesday and Thursday they had to take her to the pre-k room to use the portable potty. No, no, no. She uses the bathroom fine at home, so I told her teacher that lately she’s been saying she doesn’t need to go potty at my Mom’s house and my Mom has to be firm with her and tell her to GO. She just makes excuses – so the counselor talked with Katie and we’ve all been working together to talk to her and she actually used the classroom bathroom yesterday! WOOOHOO. I hope it keeps happening because we told her she can’t go to school if she doesn’t use the big potty at school, and it’s true – in able for them to be in K at that school they have to be able to use the potty on their own and she can do that, but just needed to get her to go.

My saliva testing kit arrived at the lab yesterday! I tracked it online through UPS, so I’m hoping to have results back and get an email from my Naturopath by the end of next week?! I HOPE SO. I’m so ready to see the result levels. If you remember me mentioning the amino drink I bought last week? Well, it wasn’t the same one I got before. In fact, IT DOES HAVE CAFFEINE IN IT, AND LOTS OF IT. I totally did not know because it doesn’t say on the label, until I looked it up. YIKES, no wonder I had been having bad symptoms… I’m not taking that anymore, but my body was so used to the caffeine that I switched to the Amino Energy, like I used to drink and just lower amounts, to try to wean back off the caffeine. Ugh, I feel like such a dummy. Now that I’m off that other product that had lots of misc stuff and caffeine in it – most of the severe symptoms went away and my T4 meds seem to be helping a *little* more! I still feel bad tho. I really think I need to be put on Cortef to give my body that extra cortisol. We’ll see what the results say.

What else? UMM, we are having a weather cool spell and it is NICE! However, still getting random rain. UGH. College is still going great & I’m loving the Health and Wellness classes I have been taking. I’m off to take a hot bath and get some stuff done, before playing a bit of Lord of the Rings Online! HAPPY FRIIIIIIIIDAY!!!!!!! Sending positive vibes to ya & wishing everyone an awesome weekend.

School days

HOLY-MOLY. It has been quite busy for us as of late! Here we go..

KATIE HAS STARTED KINDERGARTEN! I am soooooo happy for her!

– August 5th we had her meet and greet (in the above pic) and got to meet her teacher, Mrs. Engle!
– 6th we rode along for her trial morning bus ride! that’s the first time ive rode a school bus since High School, lol
– 7th was her FIRST DAY of school!! she had a blast, but forgot her lunchbox at school

– Brad had his first dental check up since childhood on the 5th too! He got set up with a treatment plan, but they found his blood pressure too high so he needs to keep that in check. He used to keep it normal when he was eating healthy and exercising normally – he’s been working recently on the diet aspect, but we haven’t been to the gym since June. We both need to get back to it! I still have to be very gentle tho.
– the MD over my Naturopath finally looked at my thyroid results and thinks my battered adrenals might be inhibiting my thyroid treatment, and i also read that low adrenal function can cause the inability to convert thyroid T4 into T3 and we KNOW I have that issue. My T3 level was lower on this last blood test, but because she thinks the adrenals are the main issue then she didn’t raise the T3 because that could make things worse right now and apparently my T4 went down further so she put me on a low dose of T4, just to aid me as we look at my adrenals. My saliva test kit to check the adrenals is on it’s way in the mail! I’m ready to get it and send it back so I can move forward. I’m pretty sure the low adrenals are the MAIN ISSUE, so then they would put me on either strong supplements to support adrenals, which would be something like Isocort, or stronger like Cortef – which help give the adrenals a “break” while they heal. YES PLS AND THX. I started taking another adrenal supplement that I used to take and so far it’s giving bits of positive results, so that’s how I’m feeling positive that my adrenals need some serious TLC and of course focusing on less stress and good nutrients!
– me and hubby went out yesterday while Katie was at school to bring the school supplies to the front office at her school, then we were off to Whole Foods, Goodwill, and finally a quick stop at GNC and Wal-Mart! I got some more amino powder, since I love to have some in the morning for those amino acids and nutrients AND THEY DO HELP!
– I actually didn’t take a nap yesterday!! I was feeling pretty dragged, but I drank my new amino stuff yesterday afternoon and got a good boost – it doesn’t have caffeine in it either. I realllllllly need to start going to bed earlier now that I have to be up at 6:10AM, instead of 7:30ish. That would help my adrenals too, since the most healing occurs between 10PM-1AM.

Feeling accomplished so far today! Got Katie off to school this morning and got my discussion and quiz done for college – WOOT WOOT. Next up, make my amino drink, clean Echo’s cage, and take a nice bath. Hope everyone has an excellent weekend!!! I guess Saturday is now my only day to sleep in a little, lol. Speaking of, Brad took his vacation days from work this week so he’s currently zonked out from staying up into the early hours, lol. I’m glad he gets a vacation from work and was here with me to do the back-to-school tasks and events with Katie. =)
