Adventures!

FIRSTTTTTTTT! I want to say HAPPY 11 YEARS to me and Brad! He sent me a South Park e-card and asked me out, lol. HERE’S TO 11 MORE AND THEN 11 MORE and so on! =)

The last 2 weeks or so have been AH-MAZING. Last weekend Katie stayed with my Mom and we went to South Carolina to visit our friend Gatlin for a special visit! It was awesome to hang out with him and then we went to Folly Beach!

This weekend we got to visit Brad’s Mom and sisters back in Mississippi, since I was coming back for my 10 year High School reunion! We got there late Friday night and I stayed up till 2AM, lol. Only got a few hours of sleep then had to get up to take my meds. We went to visit his Grandma Saturday then came back and got ready to head out to meet up with my BFF Krista!!!!!!!! I haven’t seen her in SEVEN years! It was great to see her. We ate at a restaurant and talked, then went to the near pond and chatted till it was time for me and Brad to get over the reunion. The reunion lasted till 11pm and I had the best time catching up with classmates. Brad was bored the first hour or two but then when the singing and dancing started he really cracked up and had a blast too. I was able to also talk to my good friend Megan again. YAY. We traveled back and got back to my MIL’s house after midnight and I had to get some sleeeeeep. Sunday, we went back to our Hamilton, AL church for a SURPRISE visit, but only a few people we knew were there and everyone else was out of town! OMG FIGURES! It was fun, nonetheless. Drove back, Brad took a 2 hour nap to refresh, loaded up, and made the 4 hour trip home. It’s been great getting out and about but I am also glad to be home. Katie was a bit wild this weekend and now that we’re home she has been really pushing my buttons … and the attitude today has been rough. UGGGGGGH.

Anyway, I think I’m gonna go ahead and try to see my Doc next week and get the food sensitivity testing done so I can see which foods I need to cut out so my body can heal. I’m so tired of this…. I’m taking the thyroid meds, vitamins, etc, but I’m still struggling and that test is what the Doc is recommending.

Time to get ready to cook dinner! Hope your week is going well <3

Whacked

Welllllll, Brad and I mixed our exits on the way to the Doc yesterday so there was a bit of panic and rage on his part :x but then we finally got there. Results: increased my progesterone supplementation, switched from synthetic T3/T4 thyroid to Armour at a higher overall dose, started taking DIM to help tame my testosterone levels (hopefully), switched to a liquid B vitamin complex, and vit D daily. We’ll do a check up in a month and if my digestion has not improved then we’ll do food sensitivity testing. I think it’s gonna happen anyway. I think my gut is whacked and the only way to repair it is to know which foods are making it worse. Blaaaaaah.

I took Katie out this morning to ride her bike, then came in to eat lunch, do a little college work, cleaned this & that, and soon will eat dinner before Brad gets home. We’re heading out to get something for church done! Hopefully if we have enough time we can stop by Whole Foods so I can get my other supplement.

Wishing everyone a great Wednesday!

I want to say THANK YOU to the commenters! I was so surprised to get more than 1 comment, lol. Thx for making my day! =)

How as your July 4th? We didn’t do anything, really. I’m hoping once I get to feeling a lot better that we can start to jump into *really* celebrating holidays and all that. Katie has been a hellion lately. I’M SO READY FOR HER TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL, OMGZ. I know some of you can relate, lol. All I’m hearing lately is, “You never let me do ANYTHING”, or “That’s not FAIR” …. -_- Nope, kid, life’s not fair!

I’M SO EXCITED for tomorrow! Background: I have been seeing a holistic person since late 2012 – a Naturopath. She has a degree in Naturopathic medicine, but did not go to medical school. I LOVE holistic medicine, since they want to get to the ROOT of your problem and not just cover symptoms with medicine. I also have respect for Western medicine too. Anyway, my holistic person has an MD that “heads” over her and helps her out sometimes. Well, that MD is the one that gave me the thyroid meds. Well, since I still haven’t figured out all this mess the MD wanted to run lots of blood tests so she could look at everything and HELP MEEEEEE (before it was mainly left up to my Naturopath to interpret results). The blood results all came in finally last week and I go in the morning to see her! The AWESOME part is that she used to practice family medicine (meaning she DID go to medical school) THEN she switched to the holistic, so she has LOTS of experience in both fields of medicine.

I got the blood work done through my insurance, so I didn’t have to pay for it and it also meant that I could see the results through my online account! My vitamin D is 31… it it supposed to be 50-70 or maybe even up to 80 or 90. I think I’ve had chronic low vit D and that may just be the root of my problem, since it is SUPER important to have proper vit D levels, for lots of functions in the body… including digestion! I have a handful of other low levels and I already know my B vitamins are low, but when vit D is low then the good bacteria in the gut is low and can’t absorb B vitamins properly. Time to boost that vid D and get these others levels up to par too.

Alright, time to get ready to head over to see my Mom for card game night! Hope everyone had an excellent weekend <3 I’ll blog about my appointment possibly tomorrow, but I also have to finish my college paper so might blog later in the day or it might be Tuesday. Sending positive vibes <3
