Carb overloadz

As I mentioned, I got off track and ate too much + too many carbs Sunday evening and night, then today I ate too many carbs but didn’t go crazy on the calories. However, it made me sleepy this morning and today so I took naps. GOT TO STOP DOING THIS! It was the coconut bread that set off my trigger for carbs – should have known not to make it. It’s over and done with though and I’m gonna make the rest of this week AWESOME exercise AND food intake wise. The weekend throws me off, so I’m going to get Brad to wake me up earlier on Saturdays, so that I don’t get so messed up and wind up slipping up. If I can keep my foods strict for about a month, or a little longer without ANY mess ups, I think I will see big improvements in all areas. That’s the trick tho is sticking to it. I used to be so good at not giving in to any temptations and then my health messed up and nothing has been the same since. I WON’T GIVE UP THO, EVER! No matter how many times I slip, I am a fighterrrrrrrrr till I GET THIS RIGHT. Other people may be able to have “cheat” days or whatever, but I have to stay strict or else I retain water like a mad woman and then it takes me a week to get back to where I was…. rinse/repeat. GRRRRRRRRR. I was really starting to feel great at the gym when I had my food steady so yeah.

Anyway!!! Hope everyone had a good Monday. Since the overeating + carb overload made me sleepy, I decided to go back to sleep this morning after Brad went to work and slept late. Up.. started laundry, cooked breakfast, fed Katie, etc etc. Turned in my final college paper for my Business class, then started a bit on the new class. Katie went down for nap and I still felt meh/sleepy, so I went back to sleep on the couch, until my neighbor knocked on the door and wanted me to help with something so did that and went over to visit/talk for way longer than planned, lol. Katie had woken up, but was just playing in her bed and Brad was already home by the time I came back haha. Hurried and got READY FOR THE GYM!!!!!!! Took Katie to friend’s then off we went. I had my pre-workout drink and my yogurt/banana on the way there. ZEE STATS >>>

I deffo didn’t feel as good, as far as my workout after eating too many carbs. My endurance was not as good and the virtual bike was really tough! I couldn’t keep up with pacer, but I kept going!!! Eventually headed out to come back & Brad put Katie to bed, while I got started on our dinner, since I did not get a chance to cook it beforehand like usual. I was starving when we first left the gym, but then I felt okay after I got home and got some ice + water in me. Ate, took some supplements, and washed off. Here I am!

Plan on having a ROCKIN’ rest of the week and WILL NOT GO OFF TRACK THIS COMING WEEKEND. Not gonna buy anymore tempters (aka like making the coconut bread), atleast not for a long while until I feel I can not go crazy over it. I’m thankful for another day. However.. I stayed on track with my food until after our church friends came by. I waited too long to eat and then my coconut bread was just so delicious, so then I wound up eating more of that than planned, also ate more rice than planned, and yeah but it’s all good. I’m overstuffed tho. Blergh. Ah well, gonna sleep it off and carry on track with tomorrow! Also, we have not turned on our A/C in like months, but now the temp has been getting up to 90 or so the last two days and today between all the cooking, dryer going….. the house was really hot ALL DAY and we finally gave in and turned on the A/C a while ago and THANK GOODNESS. It’s still 75 outside!

GYM TOMORROW, SQUEEEEEEEEEEE! All those carbs from today will surely have me fueled up to go hard tomorrow! =D

Ultra BURN!!!!

Today has been INCREDIBLE! I dug out my FitBit yesterday to keep a better track of my total BURN for the day and then I can subtract my food intake to calculate my deficit. I LOVE my FitBit and haven’t used it in a long time. I tracked my sleep last night!!! We didn’t go to bed until 2AM, lol and I woke up a few times but went back to sleep and got a little over 8 hours of sleep! Got up to try to hurryhurry to get some CALORIES in and get Katie up, fed, etcetc. OMG – I made my protein shake this morning with the new chocolate peanut butter protein powder + my strawberry kefir and it seriously tasted like a mocha frappacino…mmm. NEW FAVORITE. Started to clean house and Katie watched cartoons, while Brad slept way, way late, hah. I was seriously multi-tasking this morning, between cleaning and trying to get food ready for on the go. Eventually ate my eggs/coconut oil/green beans, then finished cleaning! Called Mom to see if she could watch Katie and she said she still had a headache and didn’t sleep a wink last night.. =/ so it was a no go. OH and I also went over to my neighbor’s after I started cleaning to help her with a few things and she said she would watch Katie! SHE IS SUCH A LIFE SAVER! We would not have been able to go to the gym today if it wasn’t for her! Soooooo, got everything situated and my neighbor was out running errands so we had to wait for her to get back. We were all ready to go to the gym! It was a gorgeous day too. Took Katie and her stuff over then we were OFF!!!!!! I felt like a kid on Christmas, lol. I ran for 34:30 minutes then wanted to add more time, but it wouldn’t let me so I had to stop and re-start and went for another 14 minutes, but I jogged the entire time and got up to 6.0 and my heart rate wasn’t as high so I know I’m getting better and better. I got done just a little bit before the gym was getting ready to close, so I got my favooooooorite smoothie that has a fat burner and I added an energy boost. We told Ryan byeeeee and that we’d see him Monday!!! Heh. Left and decided to head over to Micheal’s craft store, since Brad loves that store. I got Katie a new froggie cup + bowls, toy bracelets, a new black pen for me, and a LOVE bracelet. Went a few doors down to PetSmart and we might get a rat soon! Brad loves them and I now want one too. We’ll see. I ate one of my on-the-go snack bowls and I ALMOST DIED AND WENT TO HEAVEN IT WAS SO GOOD. I bought some in the pouch salmon – so it was that, gucamole, sweet red pepper hummus, and sweet peas. I can tell already that I’m gonna be eating that a lot! :D Next stop was…. can ya guess? Wal-Mart! Got some cleaning stuff, each got a new pair of workout shorts, a few food items, snack items – including a PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY whey isolate protein bar! (YUM, it’s the same kind of bars at our gym… I love them!) and I cheated and got a Monster energy drink. Mwahhahaa. We checked our blood pressure at Wal-Mart and I AM SO HAPPY FOR MY HUBBY! His blood pressure is the best it has ever been at 122/67! EXERCISE ROCKS!!! Mine has been awesome for a long time – actually, a bit low usually. Majority of the time it’s 90/60, but today it was a bit higher, YAY! It was 102/60! Zooooooooomed back, brought Katie home + bath + bed for her, then we had some SEXY alone time. I bought some new shampoo and conditioner, since the last stuff I bought from the salon was just not cutting it for my hair. Went ahead and bought Dove again, since it has been good to my hair in the past. Took a shower and washed my hair and here I am! Chewing on an Extra Dessert (apple pie) piece of gum, listening to music on Pandora, and feeling GOOD!

What a smashingly excellent day. I’m so grateful. I OWE EVERYTHING I AM AND EVER SHALL BE TO MY HEAVENLY FATHER. It feels amazing to be getting to top fitness shape again, I just can’t wait to drop this weight and get some muscle! Tomorrow is RELAX day! Goodnight :]

Arr, ARr

Katie really pushed my buttons today. She is just SO STUBBORN! I got a tiny bit more done on my college paper and took a few mini naps. I was THANKFUL to get out of the house this evening. Mom was ready to see Katie again, heh. Brad and I headed to the mall first to see about getting my eyebrows waxed and possibly a hair trimming – but we got all the way out there and my hair dresser was booked and I would of had to wait atleast 30 minutes and we could not wait around that long because we had to get our grocery shopping done…. so i’ll get it done some other time. Bummer. Stopped at GNC in the mall to look at protein powders but decided to look at Whole Foods. Left and drove to Whole Foods and got a few things, including coconut flour again! since I wanna make my coconut bread… nom! Debated on protein powders and decided to look at Wal-Mart, lol. I got a KOMBUCHA and ThinkThink cookies n’ cream bar to eat as my “snack” and I even counted my calories for it, woot woot. Gonna stay accountable. I wound up getting chocolate peanut butter protein powder that has 26g of protein per scoop, yay! I can’t wait to try it in the morning. Yea.. so been pretty irritated all day and then I didn’t even get my eyebrows done! Ah well.

I’m about to bake my coconut bread and prob watch Biggest Loser from last week, even tho I saw part of it already at the gym this week. Can’t wait to KILL upper body tomorrow at the gym – LET’S GO! Really, really, really hoping Mom is able to watch Katie tomorrow, like she did tonight. Anyway… gonna go listen to music and mix up the batter for my coconut bread. Have a great night!

Non-stop day

My oh my. It was a SUPER BUSY day for me! After Brad left for work, I got online for a bit while drinking my protein shake and eventually the painter came to put the final paint on the bathroom ceiling, then another guy that works at the apartments pressure washed the entryway and water actually came in.. ugh. Happened to my neighbor too and her carpet got wet because of it! She filed a complaint. I thought about going to the park to meet up with a church friend, but I needed to work on my college paper, so that’s what I did. I got a page or so done! Oh, and also started laundry, washed dishes… usual. My neighbor wanted me to help her bring in a box from her car, so I helped her then came back to feed Katie and put her down for nap. Time was FLYING! I fixed my lunch, then finally got to just have a little time to do NOTHING, so first I called Mom to check on her and she said her CT came back good! Yay!! She said she’ll prob watch Katie for us tomorrow night. I laid down and took a small nap on the couch. Went across the hall again to help my neighbor for a bit and came back for Katie’s snack and more play time. Ummm, steamed some more squash, folded laundry, and went back to my neighbor’s house real quick to help put ear drops in her kitty’s ears to help her. Came back and folded laundry, put it away, and started our dinner for later. SHEWWWW. Waited on Brad, then when he came home — got ready and took Katie to my friend’s house once again. Left for my new home =D

I slammed down a post-workout blend afterwards (kindof like gatorade, except it’s powder Brad bought) and also had a banana that I brought along. Oh, and we checked out body fat and mine has come down a little! WOOOOOOOHOOOOO! I was 33.3% and tonight it was 32.6%, so not much reduction but I’LL TAKE IT, esp. since I went calorie overboard last weekend. We headed out and came back to get Katie, so she could get a bath and go to bed.

Wow, it’s almost midnight ALREADY. I actually washed my hair, lol. I’ve kept it up all week, since we got to the gym so much, but yea it was time for a wash and I’ll fix/style it in the morning. Tomorrow will be a rest day, BUT I am gonna keep my calories straight all weekend and next week and the next and the next! Just gotta be sure to re-fuel enough after my workouts or else it will take a big toll on my body and I’ll get sick, like a cold or sinus infection. NO THX. I feel good right now, but need my sleep! Plan on hopefully going to get my eyebrows waxed tomorrow evening and maybe even a hair trim, then grocery shoppings! Gotta buy some more protein powder and am prob gonna get some sort of Whey Protein Isolate. *squee!* I’m so stoked to be back at exercise in this way again. Will be interesting to see where I get in the next few months. Mine and Brad’s arm muscles are already growing a little! =)

Great day, except for after we came in the door tonight…… I looked over and saw that my female betta had passed. =( Not sure what happened, but I hope the male will be ok! I might get another male, but I dunno. RIP little Isadore.

Treadmill rockin’

OMG-OMG-OMG-OMG. I’m so stoked. More on that in a moment, but first! How was your humpity hump day?! After Brad left for work, I sat down to drink my protein shake and watched the latest SECRET LIFE episode! I was really tired afterwards, so I decided to lay down for… 20 minutes? Well, 20 minutes turned into more like an hour and 20 minutes, lol. WOOPS. I woke up because the maintenance man was banging on the door so he could come spray our bathroom ceiling where the leak upstairs had left stains. GAAAAAAAAAH, I forgot how STRONG spray paint is. I could barely breathe. Turned on fan, cracked patio door, and kept everyone (kitty and Katie) out of the bathroom… except for me, because I had to PEE badly not even 5 minutes after they sprayed it. Ugh. I got my 2nd college discussion done, then by the time I was done with that – it was close to lunch time. Watched my OTH rerun while in the bath while Katie napped. When I got out I was debating on working on my college paper, or going to help my neighbor clean her apartment a bit since I told her I would. Hmmmmmmmmm. Figured I would try to call Mom to check on her because she’s been sick. No answer. Decide to go help neighbor! We talked and I helped clean her living room and vacuumed her whole house. It’s sooooooo nice to help! I need to go over to my Mom’s house and clean her place too. Mom called me while I was at my neighbor’s apartment and said she went to the Doc today. See, a few years ago the lung Doc found a mass on Mom’s lung and they have kept an eye on it to see if it changes, grows, etc. They went ahead and did another CT today, just to make sure it hadn’t changed, since it’s been like a year since her last one. They did find out she has an upper respiratory infection, so she got meds for that. Next, she’s gonna see about going to the stomach Doc to see what they can do for her. I really hope she can feel significantly better soon. She gets the results from the CT tomorrow. I eventually came back home to feed Katie & eat my own snack! I worked on my college paper a tiny bit… got a paragraph or so typed & almost got 2 pages done in total! Need atleast 6 and up to 8, but it’s a super easy paper so it won’t be a problemo to get done the next couple of days.

I had already gotten dressed for the gym after my bath earlier, lol. Prepared our stuff and waited for Brad! Had been wanting to kiss him all day, heh. Took Katie to friend’s house and zoomed off to the gym! Brad wasn’t feelin it as much tonight, since he was tired but he did good. SUMMARY >>>

I’m WEAK on the benches lol but that’s alright. Brad was DONE after the bench press, so he went on ahead to start his cardio and I did some ab work, then went onto cardio. Decided to try out the elliptical cross trainer, since I had not tried that yet. Went for the fat burn workout….. HOLY HELL. The resistance was hella hard, but I pushed through. Yea, really felt it in my butt and upper thighs, down to the knees. I was still kindof sore from the LEGS workout yesterday, but I just kept going. The resistance would go up then come down, up, down, then finally settled a bit on the lower side THANK GOODNESS. I wasn’t sure how I would feel on the treadmill after that, but I went for it. I – ROCKED – IT. Wooow, I’m loving the treadmill as much as I used to ALREADY. I mostly jogged at 4.0, but also sped up a bit here and there. Eventually got up to 6.0 at the end. I put the TV on the music mix station and got into the music! I was lip syncing and moving my hands, lol because that’s what I used to do at home on my treadmill, so people are gonna get a laugh out of me prob but I don’t care! =D I was having a blast!!!!!! I JOGGED FOR 25 MINUTES STRAIGHT! Well, except I accidently pressed the stop button at 22 minutes, but I went right back to jogging but then lost my total milage and calories…. bah! That’s why I put the ~ sign beside the treadmill stats, cause I don’t know for sure but just an estimate. I could have went much longer and THAT makes me beyond HAAAPPPPPPPPPY. I felt strong, I felt GOOD. My only prob is my feet hurt a bit, but other than that I was feeling it – in fact, TMI my butt muscles were sore as I was jogging, lol. I want that fat OFF OF MEEEEEE. We actually got done almost an hour earlier, but we did arrive at the gym a bit earlier than usual too. Brad was really tired afterwards, so we just sat at the table up front for a bit…. I wasn’t ready to go home but he was, so … homebound! I made and gulped down a protein shake as soon as I got in the door! Got Katie home and Brad put her to bed. After I washed off I ate my turkey patty + veggies + a little tomato sauce. YUMS. We’re going to bed shortly, since we both need it. Spray paint man is coming back in the morning to put the final coat on the bathroom ceiling….. ugh I don’t wanna smell that again. Bleeeeeeeh.

To-do Tuesday

I feel accomplished! I wrote out a to-do list for myself to try to get done today and… I got 5/5 tasks done! My 2 “extra” tasks didn’t get done, but that’s alright. I got up this morning, Brad left for work, I had my protein shake, then first task: posting on my livejournal! Katie got up, ate, played and throughout the morning I got other tasks done: putting Katie’s clean clothes away, cleaning our betta’s tank, college discussion, and finally… writing my visiting teaching letters for church! I had 2/3 letters done and had to stop to fix Katie’s lunch, then wash dishes. She went down for nap and I thought about watching the latest Secret Life while taking a bath, but got in the hot water and dozed off for a mini nap. It was nice! Got out and after Katie got back up, I finished my last letter. To-do list for today = DONE! Woot woot, that’s right. I went ahead and got my heart rate monitor and chest strap on, plus gym clothes & I took KD out for a walk and it was still a bit chilly with some wind, but was a beautiful day. We came home and I had to start getting stuff ready for the evening! Brad came home and we took Katie to our friend’s then off for another evening at the gym!!!!!!!!!!! Brad had a headache when we got to the gym, but he found after getting started, it went away. Heh.

Yea, totally rocked the legs! I was sweating pretty good on the stair stepper! Sweat was building up from the pores out of my arms and I love that. I was going really fast on the elliptical – only prob is my right food was going numb, lol. I watched part of the new episode of The Biggest Loser while doing my cardio. =) Brad got a protein shake afterwards and I had a little of that, then got a protein bar and we left after a bit. Usual – bath + bed for Katie D! Was debating on whether that was enough food, or if I needed to eat my turkey patty too. Decided to just eat my turkey patty + little veg & tomato sauce, so I got more calories, but not as much as planned since I had a little of his shake and that bar. Did awesome with my food today and just gotta keep going–going–going! ESP. on my non-gym days… that’s where I’ve been messing up. NO MORE, NO MORE, NO MORE, NO MORE! Oh, and we saw Ryan (who works a lot at the gym) actually as he was getting to leave after his workout.. heh. He said he was gonna get a shake, then go get some food. He’s a really cool guy!!!!!

What a great Tuesday. Ready for Wednesday! Gotta go get ready for SLEEP, so I can recover and rock it again tomorrow. P.S. I weighed myself at the gym (with clothes & shoes) Saturday and was up 4 pounds… but weighed tonight and lost 2! Yea, my calorie overboard from this weekend usually results in extra “water weight” but It’s going down already– KEEP GOING DOWWWWN. Wishing everyone a wonderful night! Focus, FOCUS

Argh. Was still a bit off track food wise today, but got straight in the late afternoon. I HAVE to stay on track food wise or else my gym work isn’t gonna be what it should be!!! Going back to the food list that was working for me.

Eating too many carbs and a bit too much sugar left me feeling heavy and super tired this morning. Brad woke up late and had to rush, rush to get out of the door for work, but I decided to just go back to sleep, since I could barely keep my eyes open and my eyes felt tight. Slept late, got up, ran around to get things done. I washed a load of laundry, worked a little more on my college paper, and Katie went down for nap later on. Watched my OTH rerun!!! YAY. Mom called me and said she was pretty sick and she’s gonna try to get into the Doc’s ASAP. She really needs to! She also called just to let me know of course that she wouldn’t be able to keep Katie today. I went to visit with my neighbor for a bit, then folded laundry, fed Katie, steamed veggies, cooked our dinner for later, and waited on my hunny bunny to get HOME SO WE COULD ROCK AT THE GYM! He is excited about going to the gym and I REALLY cannot express the happiness I feel from him saying that!!!!! It is truly a dream come true for me. I put on my heart rate monitor and chest strap and couldn’t get it to sync. Kept trying and trying. Brad came home and took Katie to friend’s house, then got our stuff and headed out! Heart rate monitor and strap still wasn’t syncing… grr! We went out to Whole Foods before the gym to pick up BANANAS for both of us, coconut kefir, and plain greek yogurt for me! Brad was so eager to get to the gym, lol. Makes me happy! Here was our Monday evening summary:

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED BECAUSE I JOGGED THE 20 MINUTES NON-STOP ON THE TREADMILL. I haven’t done that in forever and it was awesome. I did 1.55 miles in 20 minutes – I remember when I could do 3 miles in 30 minutes I think. I’ll get back. Staying on track with my FOOD will help that TOO. We got done and I was trying to decide if I wanted to get a protein shake at the gym, or if I could wait till we got home. Decided to wait and so, came back, brought Katie home and put her to bed, ate, washed off, and now getting ready for Zzzzzzzzzzz’s!

Thankful, grateful, and blessed. I know I can stay on track because I AM GOING TO. I believe that if I keep it up at the gym AND keep on track with my food that my health WILL get better and I WILL lose this weight. Woot woot… hope everyone has an awesome night! PEACE and love!!!!

Intake overboard

We got up and went out into the cool, windy morning air and went to church. Everything went well, except I was really tired. After church, they had a gathering with food, so we hung out for a bit. I brought some food with me, but also nibbled on this and that. Man, the food table was almost bare at the end, lol. Came home and Katie would not pick up her toys….. surprise, surprise, so she got them taken away for the day. She went down for nap and I worked on my college paper that’s due next Monday and got my first page done, WOOT. Brad had fallen asleep and after I was done with my first page… I also went to sleep on the couch for a long while. Also.. I got way off calorie wise today. Yea, went crazy. Brilliant, I know. Will prob REALLY regret it tomorrow at the gym. Gotta learn to stay away from tempters and STAY ON FLIPPIN’ TRACK. GRRRRRRRR. I got off track today because I was way tired and when I get set off with eating something, it kindof dominoes. Anyway, back on track tomorrow and I’m gonna have to stop giving in on my rest-from-gym days.

I got my new heart rate monitor all set up and ready for tomorrow!! Can’t WAIT to use it. Also, I sat down this evening (with Katie as close as she can get of course) and made a poster board picture collage of Katie to hang in her room! I really like it. I figured I would do that VS buying new picture frames. Way cheaper and TOTALLY 100% more creative. We hung that up and then tonight after dinner, sat down to watch the latest Biggest Loser! Can’t believe Mark and Buddy quit…. but ah well. I reallllllly want Kim to win!

We might watch the latest Bones or Fringe episode (?), but not sure! We’ll see. Have a great night!!! P.S. – it’s still windy and cool outside! The cool air feels good blowing through the patio door.

SUPER Saturday

Wheeeeeeeeeeee! Cleaned house this morning and eventually got ready for the GYM! Took Katie to Mom’s then went to Wal-Mart to get a few things and print off some newer pictures of Katie for myself, Mom, and Brad’s Mom. Next, off to WORK OUT!!!!!! WOOOHOO! Of course Saturday is when it is almost empty, which is the best! Here was our summary:

elliptical, warmup, 10 minutes, 1.06 miles, 104 calories
squats – 3X, 15 reps
steppers – 2X, 1 minute
squat/raise – 2X, 15 repts
wallstep – 1X, down & back for each leg
burpees – 1X, 10 reps
exercise ball – threw it back and forth maybe 10 times, 6 pounds
pectoral fly – 3X, 45lbs, 10 reps
abs – 10 reps, abcoaster – till max
stair stepper – 20 minutes, 70 floors, 202 calories
treadmill – 18 minutes, 1.10 miles, 100 calories

I got another great sweat out of it! I’m getting better at running already, WOOT. I wanted to do more time on the treadmill, but yeah. I could tell the diff in how I felt today VS other days and not having ate as much, since we woke up later than usual and I didn’t get in as many calories, but I made sure to get enough total for the day. Oh, and I had energy shot bloks before and after my workout – then I had a smoothie with a fat burner and energy boost in it. We talked to one of the guys that works there for a long while and he is awesome!!!!!! =) Then we left and went a few stores down to BEST BUY! I got some new headphones that fit around my ears for working out & just in general, since I like the ones that fit around your ears a lot better than just the usual in your ear. Brad contemplated for a looooong while about getting a digital camera haha. I was getting super hungry, so I went and sat in the car and ate the food I had packed with me. Looked around a bit more then headed back to Wal-Mart lol. Brad wound up buying a mini camcorder! It’s so cute and I’ll prob use it more than he will! I also got a blue poster board to hang up new pictures of Katie in her room. Came back to Mom’s to hang out for a bit before coming home! I had a protein shake when I got in, just to make sure I got enough calories.

Bout to get a shower to shave & wash my hair, then check out my new gear and prob watch last Sunday’s Game of Thrones episode before bed!!! It’s been a great day and I cannot WAIT to get back to the gym Monday!!!!!! I owe EVERYTHING I AM AND EVER SHALL BE to my Heavenly Father!
