AWW, about an hour ago our Katie girl turned 6 MONTHS OLD!!!

Update on her: She’s found her feet! She tries to put them in her mouth, lol. She did a tiny tiny chuckle the other night so hopefully soon she’ll bust out with a big laugh! She had her very 1st baby food this morning — sweet peas!!! I put some in her baby cereal, she seemed to like it. Then before her nap earlier I gave her about 1/2 oz of baby apple prune juice and man she sucked that down! When she wakes up from her nap I’m gonna feed her-her bottle then try some more sweet peas but this time by themselves! :]

Sorry I haven’t updated in almost a week! I’ve just been slacking on the blogging. Brad got his new schedule for work. Did I already mention this? Not sure. Anyhow, he works Mon-Wed, is off Thur-Fri then works Sat and off Sun! Kindof a skip around schedule but he likes it. And can I just say that he really has matured in these last few months — he’s such a wonderful husband and my best, best, best, best, best friend. I’m close family wise with my Mom but Brad is the closest person ever to me. We know each other so well and I really and truly think we were made for one another. He’s my babe.

Yesterday was a good day. Went to Church and found out that one of the guys from Church just moved into a trailor and was in need of items for his place so when we got home, Brad and I looked to see what he would get up for him. Called him and he came over to get the items then when he was talking to Brad somehow laundry came up and he said he needed to wash a load so Brad invited him over to wash – which is fine. He came back, put in his load and we all sat and talked for a few hours. It was nice to have someone over! He’s 21 so that’s a plus that he’s in our age group! After his clothes dryed, he said bye and left! Brad left also to go help a guy from Church with his computer & was gone about 1 1/2 hour? Came back home and we ate dinner. Last night we were playing on the Wii and had a blast!!

Also, last night after I fed Katie her bottle and baby cereal, she was so happy! TOMORROW SHE IS 6 MONTHS! WHATTTT?? Can’t believe it. Woot I get to start her on juice and baby food! I can’t WAIT! She wants to sit up so bad but isn’t strong enough yet so I usually prop her up on the couch or hold her up on the floor and let her play with her toys. Last night when I changed her diaper before bed — she found her feet! Haha. Was trying to put them in her mouth LOL. Hilarious. She’s taking a nap right now and I’m finishing up my lunch. Know what’s cool? My Mom has passed down a LOT of my baby items back to me for Katie. She gave me a whole bag full of my baby rattlers! I’ve got them soaking in soapy water now just to make sure their clean so Katie can play with them. I’ve also got a few trash bags FULL of my old stuffed animals that Katie can have when she’s old enough to play with them. I think that’s so neat. Also, Mom let me have back my ponytail of HAIR from my very 1st BIG haircut back in middle school, lol. Weird but kindof interesting.

If we can get some money put back and maybe If Brad can get a Saturday off then we can go visit MOM YAAAAY. I really hope we can do that soon. If he CAN’T get a Saturday off anytime soon then we’ll just have to make a shorter trip but I don’t care, I just want to see MOM and she wants to see Katie soooooo very, very, very badly! I miss her and can’t wait to see her.

First I want to thank everyone who left comments in my last entry! Thank you for the props on pumping as long as I did! And yes, that is our Katie in my current layout!

Yesterday was interesting to say the least. Brad & I got up, fed Katie and had the plan to go buy groceries at Wal-Mart so we did just that. Shopped and looked around for over an hour I’d say. Little side note here – Brad just opened a new bank account not long ago and has starter checks only since his real checks & debit card haven’t come in yet. Anyhow, we go to check out at Wal-Mart and Brad asks her what she wants him to write on the check since It didn’t have his name on it. She said he didn’t have to put anything that she could probably just scan it then she realized It didn’t have any info on it so she got someone & asked them If they could even take that check. The other lady calls it in. Nope. Wow, talk about embarassing. We bought our WIC, got the diaper bag and Katie and Brad said, “It’s your loss” and we left. He went ahead and got the money out of the bank since that’s the only way we can use it.

Next plan was to go visit Brad’s Mom then head over to Brad’s Grandmas. We ate at his Mom’s house and fed Katie a bottle while we were there too. Stayed about an hour? Left and headed over to his Grandma’s. His Aunt was also over there and we talked to them. Then church came up. Wow, I’ve never been so offended in my entire life. She found out we’re now Mormons and went off the deep end. She definetly crossed the line. At one point she said we could have come in there and told her we joined any church but *gasp* not the Mormons! She said she felt like she was going to vomit. Oh thanks!!!!!!! She 100% thinks Mormons are a cult and that the nice people are just a “cover up” to pull us into their cult. WTF. She knows nothing about the REAL Mormons. I just sat there and was actually pretty shaken up. I looked over at Brad and I could just see his blood pressure rising. He tried to get a word in but she was just going crazy! Brad finally said, “You know what? This conversation is over.” He got up to get the diaper bag and went to pick up Katie’s carseat and his Aunt got up, crying and said, “No, I’ll go, you came here to visit with Mom (Brad’s Grandma)” She got up and left. She was good enough though to call us back later and apologize. I’ve never been attacked about my religion since I joined the Mormon church but that was definetly… interesting. You know, WTF. I don’t go around harassing her about her life and she should have the same respect for us.

We talked to Brad’s Grandma a bit more then headed out and eventually came BACK to Wal-Mart to shop with our actual CASH this time. UGH. It was already really late, like 8:30ish and usually Katie is in bed by 7:00PM. I didn’t get her into bed until almost 10:00PM last night and when I did lay her down, she was out.

Today I’ve been cleaning the house and washing a few loads of laundry. Looks like It’s gonna rain, boo!

Today I used up the last 5oz frozen breastmilk for Katie so I guess now I’m stopping pumping all together. The last month? 2 months? I’ve only been able to get at most 5oz and that was only in the morning and any other time I could only get at most 2oz. I’ve been pumping since 1 day after Katie came home from the hospital so I think I’ve done a great job but I know If my boobs could talk they would scream, “TIME FOR A BREAK!” because over this last month or so I’ll get random times where they’ll actually bleed and hurt a LOT. She’s almost 6 months and I was trying to do my best to last till she WAS 6 months but she’ll be 6 months in 11 days so I came close. She’s eating more than I can produce and I just feel like I’m torturing my own boobs so I know this is for the best.

I have to say I’m happy that I don’t have to pump anymore every couple hours EVERY DAY because that’s what I’ve done for the last almost 6 months. Of course I’m so happy that I did pump for her so that she could have the breastmilk but everything must come to an end and I’m doing what I feel is best for myself and my boobs. It has definetly been an interesting almost 6 months and I think I know my boobs now better than ever LOL.

Let’s just hope the drying up process won’t be too bad… :geek:

Wow the modern bedroom sets are really gorgeous! I have been talking to my husband about trying to put back some money when we can to try to save up for a new bedroom set. I’m totally jealous of my cousins bedroom set. He has a sleigh bed with a downy comforter and a mattress that I think gave me the best sleep of my life! I would love to have a pretty theme going for our bedroom too. The Modern line looks very fancy! My poor old bedroom dresser has just about seen its last days. It was orginally wood brown then Mom and I repainted it white a long time ago now It’s just chipped all over it so It’s not too attractive but It holds our clothes so that’s what counts.

I’ve never been to Las Vegas but I’m sure getting a hotel there most of the time might not be the easiest thing or maybe I’m wrong? I really find appreciation in hotel sites because they help you find the kind of hotel you need or want. Use their website to find las vegas hotels and take a weekend off to the big city! Also, what’s a trip to Las Vegas without a stop at a casino?? I know I miss the big city ever since we moved away from Georgia.

One thing that our new apartment does not have is ceiling fans! Which really bites because I did enjoy our one ceiling fan we had at our duplex apartment. It was in the living room and provided a circulation of cool air in the whole room. When I was looking into fixing up Katie’s nursery, I wanted to get her the mini ceiling fan with multi-colored blades. You’ve seen those haven’t you? I’m sure you have. Their so cute!
